A Night of Legacy: KW Titans Host Legends of Sport Night on February 7

The KW Titans will honour the region’s rich sporting history on February 7 with a Legends of Sport night, a special game dedicated to honouring some of the athletes, coaches, and community leaders who have helped shape sports in Waterloo Region and beyond.

Tip-off is set for 4:00 p.m. as the Titans take on the Sudbury Five, but the evening will offer much more than high-level basketball. Fans can look forward to a memorable night recognizing local sports icons whose impact continues to inspire generations.

Among the distinguished guests scheduled to attend are Fitz Vanderpool, Greg Johnson, and Danielle Doherty (boxing), Ronnie Pfeffer and Mike Daly (football), David Edgar (soccer), Sean Van Koughnett, Mano Watsa, and Cavell Johnson (basketball), with additional honourees to be announced.

At halftime, fans will have the opportunity to meet these legends courtside in the North End Bistro during special photo and autograph sessions bringing the community face-to-face with its heroes. The celebration will also feature video board tributes, career highlights, and in-game recognition showcasing each honouree’s lasting impact.

The night will also spotlight the leaders behind the Titans, with tributes to former head coach Cavell Johnson and recognition of current coaches Cliff Clinkscales and James Siakam for their contributions to the team and the sport.

As Waterloo Region continues to grow as a proud sports town, Legends of Sport is designed to honour the past, inspire the future, and bring fans together through a shared love of the game.
