Myles Charvis signing Press Release

The KW Titans are pleased to announce the signing of 25-year-old Myles Charvis for their 2019-2020 roster. The Mississauga native has roots deeply embedded in Canadian basketball with a collegiate career at both Ryerson University and the University of Waterloo. Charvis was also a member of the CEBL (Canadian Elite Basketball League) team, the Guelph Nighthawks last year before he declared for the NBA draft in 2019.

“It’s kind of come full circle for me, I started my university career in the KW area and now i get to come back as a pro,” Charvis said. “KW was the ideal landing spot for me in the NBL. I wanted to be here.”

With averages of almost 11 points per game along with just over five assists, Charvis was able to be a key cog in the machine for the Nighthawks last year and was able to earn the honour of being the CEBL’s Player of the Month in August after averaging 19 points, five rebounds and seven assists to finish off the summer. KW will need him to replicate his strong play for the Titans this season.

“My expectations this year is to first get better as a team overall, day in day out and form some chemistry,” Charvis said. “The culture is the foundation for any good team and we have a good one here with Cavell leading.”

KW Titans head coach Cavell Johnson was a big supporter of the signing.

“Myles is a highly intelligent guard that can impact the game as a scoring threat and equally as a facilitator,” Johnson said. “His contribution to the culture will be immediately felt.”
