Welcome to Titans Skills Academy!

The KW Titans are offering professionally coached, small group Titans Skills Academy programs at YMCA of Three Rivers locations in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and Guelph and Stratford.


Titans Skills Academy inspires young athletes aged 9-12 and 13-18 to bring their game to the next level with training from professional coaches and players from the Basketball Super League (BSL), former National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC), and other pro leagues around the world. Skills Academy sessions are offered in 6 & 7 week blocks, with pop-up weekend and school break programs depending on location. Programs are open to youth of all genders and skill levels.


Athletes are encouraged to build their basketball skills and create lasting memories, whether they dream of a basketball career or just love the game.


This is a paid program open to YMCA members and non-members. Registration takes place through the YMCA of Three Rivers online portal.


7-Week Titans Skills Academy

The KW Titans Skills Academy’s Basketball Training Program will challenge and support you to elevate your game, whether amateur or all-star. During this 7-week session, professional coaches and players will teach comprehensive offensive and defensive drills to help make you a better shooter, blocker, and all-around complete player.


Cost: YMCA members — $233.10; non-members — $259

9-12 years - 7:00-8:00pm

THURSDAYS - Stork Family YMCA Waterloo (March 28 - May 9, 2024)

9-12 years - 7:30-8:30pm

13-18 years - 8:30-9:30pm


Cliff Clinkscales


Coach Cliff, aka “The General” has been Head Coach of the KW Titans since 2022. The illustrious former point guard played for the Halifax Rainmen (2014-15) and Halifax Hurricanes (2015-20). He is the National Basketball League of Canada’s all-time assist leader with 1,660 and remains one of the NBLC’s top ten players of all time. Coach Cliff played NCAA Division 1 basketball for the DePaul Blue Demons and was selected by the Erie (PA) Bayhawks in the 2008 NBA Development League draft.


James Robinson

JAMES ROBINSON, KW Titans Lead Assistant Coach

A sought-after skills coach for athletes of all ages, Coach James excels at breaking down the skills development process and making it relatable. Coach James has been the KW Titans Lead Assistant Coach since 2022. He is a former Lead Assistant Coach for the US-based Lansing Pharaohs of the TBL (The Basketball League) and an ISSA-certified Strength and Conditioning Coach.


Chad Frazier

Chad Frazier, KW Titans

Chad Frazier is a 6’4 point guard who played with the KW Titans in 2021-22 and 2022-23, and was an NBLC All-Star in the 2022 season. During his international professional career, Chad played in Greece, Lithuania, Turkey and Israel, and most recently in Kutaisi with the Georgian Superliga. Chad was born in Boston, Massachusetts and attended University of Alabama at Birmingham

Mason Cumming 1

Mason Cumming, KW Titans

Mason Cumming is a 6’3” guard from Waterloo who made his Basketball Super League debut with the KW Titans in January 2024 after playing the 2022-23 season with L’Academie d’Alma of Quebec in the TBL (The Basketball League). Mason played CCAA basketball for Algoma University and the University of Guelph; he also played for Douglas College in New Westminster B.C. and is a graduate of St. David Catholic Secondary School in Waterloo.


Shequell Gilgeous-Glasgow, London Lightning

Kitchener local Shequell Gilgeous-Glasgow was a leading scorer for the Conestoga Condors in College and signed with the London Lightning (formerly of the National Basketball League of Canada) in 2022-2023. Sheq’s famous NBA basketball family includes cousins Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder, and Nickeil Alexander-Walker of the Minnesota Timberwolves.


Tramar Sutherland, KW Titans

Tramar Sutherland played Division 1 basketball at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, was Sun Belt Conference Champion, and played in the March Madness tournament. Tramar played 8 years of pro basketball with the National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC) on 3 different teams, including the Moncton Magic, Niagara River Lions and the KW Titans. He was a 2-time member of the All-Canadian Team, a member of the First All NBLC Team with the KW Titans, and also played FIBA 3x3 pro basketball for team Toronto in France, Mongolia & Macau.
