Short-Handed Titans Lean on Defense to Hold Off Windsor
The KW Titans delivered a strong response on Sunday night at The Aud, bouncing back from a tough road loss with a convincing 106-87 victory over the Windsor Express.
After falling 111-96 at the WFCU Centre the night before, the Titans returned home determined to reset defensively and bring a higher level of urgency. Despite being short-handed, KW set the tone early, edging Windsor 28–26 in the first quarter and steadily building momentum through disciplined defense and efficient ball movement.

By halftime, the Titans had created separation and carried their energy into the second half. That momentum continued in the third quarter, as timely shooting from Tarkus Ferguson and strong interior play helped fuel a decisive 10–2 run. The stretch shifted the flow of the game and energized the home crowd, putting KW firmly in control.
“I think today we finally almost put 48 minutes together,” said Head Coach Cliff Clinkscales. “We won three out of the four quarters, which we haven’t been doing in our last four or five games. Our defense was on point. We held them to 87 points, and that was a big time for us.”

Defensive adjustments played a key role in the bounce-back performance. The Titans applied earlier ball pressure and protected the paint more aggressively, limiting Windsor’s driving lanes and forcing contested shots throughout the night. Coach Clinkscales also leaned on a tighter rotation, helping maintain focus and intensity on both ends of the floor.
Offensively, Ty Groce and Tarkus Ferguson led the way with a combined 43 points, anchoring a balanced team effort and providing timely scoring whenever Windsor attempted to mount a response.

Sunday’s game also featured Superhero Night and a special spotlight on Children’s Miracle Network, reflecting the Titans’ continued commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
With the win, the Titans now turn their attention to their next home matchup against the Lake Erie Jackals, set for next Sunday at The Aud. Fans can secure their seats now at kwtitans.com/tickets and be part of another exciting night of Titans basketball.
